Christnet Volunteers Needed

Christnet is a collection of Christian churches that have provided overnight shelter and meals in the downriver communities for over 30 years. The Grosse Ile Interfaith Committee will be hosting the Christnet Homeless Shelter the following weeks:

• February 1 - 8 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church
• March 8 - 15 at St. Thomas Lutheran Church

Sacred Heart will be responsible for Tuesday and Saturday nights during these weeks. We will need help hosting three different shifts through the night including two male and two female hosts for each shift. We will also need help with food or donations for food.

Swiss Chicken Casserole Recipe
Please use disposable pan! 

• Shredded cooked boneless chicken breast (enough to fill a 9x13 dish)
• Slices of Swiss cheese to layer over chicken (about 8 slices) 
• Cream of chicken soup with about ¼ can of water/milk   (If you use more chicken add an extra can of soup.) 
• Grease a 9x13 pan or dish.  Layer cheese over chicken.  Mix soup and pour over chicken and cheese. 
• Sauté:  2 cups of Pepperidge Farm Herb Stuffing (or Stove Top can be substituted) in ½ cup of butter.  Mix well and layer over chicken, cheese, soup mixture.   
• Bake at 325 for 45 minutes or until bubbling and browned.
