Trunk or Treat is Coming!Our annual Trunk or Treat celebration takes place Wednesday, October 29 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM with Trunk or Treat taking place at 7:15. This is a wonderful evening of Halloween fun to spend with your family. There will be lots of food and fun for all.
Tickets are only $5.00 per person and include a meal, DJ, family games, bonfire (weather permitting), walking s'mores, a free raffle for the kids and a photo booth! They can be purchased by clicking on the button below or in person at the Parish Office. Beer and wine will be available for a free-will offering at the K of C bar!

Another Successful Blood Drive!Congratulations and thank you to all for helping make this drive our second highest in history. We missed the highest by one power red donation ending this wonderful day with 53 pints collected. That is enough blood to potently help 159 patients in need of blood. We have the BEST donors and volunteers. Also we have to give a shout out to the hard working Red Cross team that ran the drive. See you at our next drive in February!

Eschatology: The Last ThingsWhat Happens After We Die?
Tuesday, October 28, Sacred Heart Parish Center, Room B, 6:30 – 8:00 PM
This is the question that is deep in the human heart and we have been asking that question since the dawn of time. We have archaeological evidence that the earliest humans buried their dead with items indicating a hope for an afterlife. With a mixture of curiosity, fear, and hope, all of us long to know what happens after death.
The Church has long taught that prayerful consideration of that area of theology called Eschatology, which is the “study of last things” which are various final moments or stages: death, particular judgment, purgatory, heaven, hell, Second Coming of Christ, general judgment , consummation of all things in the perfection of the Kingdom of God. This study is an essential
part of our growth and maturation as Christians.

Thanks + Giving Fun Run Thursday, November 27St. James Episcopal Church will again be hosting a fun run on Thanksgiving morning, November 27. The Kid's Dash takes place at 8:30 AM, followed by the 5K Run/Walk at 9:00 AM.
Entry fees are free-will donations to support local families through the St. James' Blessing Box, Sacred Heart Food Pantry and Fish and Loaves Food Pantry.

"Sharing in the Love of Christ" Capital Campaign
Our Sacred Heart Capital Campaign is off to a strong start. Thus far, parishioners have pledged or donated more than $810,000 in support of the campaign! We are at 92% of our goal. We appreciate your generosity.
The funds are needed to repair our Church Roof and Cupola, renovate and upgrade our Parish Hall, and repair and ultimately replace our Parking Lot.

Welcome to our Parish
-
Fr. Marc Gawronski was born and raised at St. Damian parish in Westland, Michigan. He is the fourth oldest of six children. Since the third grade, he recalls wanting to be a priest! Now, coming up on his 30th year of priesthood, Fr. Marc has enjoyed ministry and teaching in several different contexts. He is familiar with Downriver. 28 of those 30 years have been spent serving parishes between SW Detroit and Monroe!
Fr. Marc attended the University of Michigan, St. John’s Provincial Seminary in Plymouth Township and the University of Notre Dame. He was ordained June 29, 1991, and celebrated his first Mass at Guardian Angels Parish in Clawson.
